Lesley Atherton

Lesley is deeply grateful to her mum who taught her to read and love language before she began school. She also taught her to read music at a very early age. As a member of two reading groups and an early/founder member of three (soon to be four) writing groups, it's fair to say that writing is something she hasn't ever outgrown.

Lesley has an author profile on, and an account on Goodreads, as well as Facebook page for her own authoring and for Scott Martin Productions.  Lesley's author website is a Wordpress blog website and is available at

Lesley Atherton's output with Scott Martin Productions is extensive, largely because Scott Martin Productions is Lesley's baby!

She has produced:

Five volumes of short stories in the 'Can't Sleep, Won't Sleep: Tales for Travellers' series, volumes 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. There's currently a £10 reduction if you purchase volumes 1-5 as a set!

Three short novels ('Divine Intervention', 'Changes' and 'No Matter What'), a book of stories for children, 'Melissa and the Mobility Scooter', and one LONG novel 'Past Present Tense'.

In addition, she has been a contributor to Scott Martin Productions' anthologies on 'Survival', 'Wartime Tales', 'Time', '...and Tide' and 'Another Time'.

Currently she is working on the manuscript for 'The Waggon' which will be completed in September 2019 and published on the 1st of October.

Lesley doesn't read as much nowadays as she used to. She spends most of her time writing, but in recent months has loved these books:

'Keep the Aspidistra Flying' by George Orwell.

'Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine' by Gail Honeyman.

'The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry' by Rachel Joyce.

'The Fisher King' by Leonore Fleischer.

'The Little Prince' by Antoine De Saint-Exupery.

'Polaris and Other Stories' by Fay Weldon.

'The Diddakoi' by Rumer Godden.
