In 1991, a new nurse, Beverly Allitt, caused havoc in Children’s Ward 4 at Lincolnshire’s Grantham and Kesteven General Hospital. Failings in the health system at both local and national levels, plus Allitt’s ‘Munchausen by Proxy’
behaviour meant she was eventually convicted of four child murders, three attempted murders and of causing GBH to six other children.
This book concentrates on the case surrounding Allitt, and on a horrific situation, the truth of which has never clearly surfaced.
