This connection with the land shines through in such poems as 'Land', 'Plough Time', 'Golden Grains' and 'December Rose'. But it isn't all pastoral words. Peter writes humorous just as well as he writes everything else. 

​​​​​​​His poem 'A Boggart in Blackpool' is hilarious. And his song lyrics 'The Glorious Twelfth' can be sung to 'The Hippopotamus Song' by Flanders and Swan.
